Why should I use Amerex? The analytical process, the pricing process, and the negotiating process are things Amerex does better than the typical consumer. There have been many instances that the client has returned to their incumbent provider through Amerex-driven negotiations with more favorable terms. It is our job to bring you the best package possible for your business. The language and terms that affect your final price are varied and at times, confusing. Our services help you navigate your options and make an informed decision.
What is "electric choice"? It is the ability to choose the company that provides electricity to your business as a result of electricity deregulation.
What is a Retail Electric Provider (REP)? A REP is an entity that sells electricity to a consumer of power.
Will my electrical service be as reliable? Yes. Changing electric power providers does not in any way alter the reliability of your power.
What do I do if my power goes out? Call the same number that you now call. Nothing will change as far as the delivery
of your power.
Do I have to choose a new electricity supplier? No, but it is in your best interest to at least compare the prices and services offered by alternative suppliers.
I am currently under a contract with a REP. Does this mean I have to wait for renewal to take any action?
No. You should examine current contracts for opportunities that may exist now.
Will I still get reliable electric service?
Yes. Existing power lines will stay in place and continue to be maintained by your existing local electric utility. You will pay your local utility’s transportation and distribution charges (T&D) for using their power lines.

Who will come if I have a problem with my electricity? Your existing local electric utility company will continue to provide all services to maintain your electric system, including outage repair.
Will different companies need to put up power lines in my neighborhood? No. Your local utility will continue to provide and maintain the local distribution system. All suppliers will deliver electricity to your facility using existing wires.
Is there a chance I will lose power when I switch companies? No.
Who will read and maintain the meters?
Your local utility will continue to read your meter and is responsible for sending your usage information to your new supplier.
What happens if my Retail Energy Provider goes out of business? If, for whatever reason, you REP goes out of business, you will be offered the opportunity of switching to another provider.
